Historical Society Social Barn

This very large Gambrel Barn is part of the Trager Homestead of the Historical Society in Portage Indiana. This structure was built to replace the original historical barn that burned. The barn is to be used to house the historical societies collections as well as a gathering place for members to have meetings, socials and dances. There is a full kitchen, elevator and the second floor is a dance hall.

Post and Beam Frame

Planed unstained Douglas Fir frame and wall purlins cut to length and notched.

Siding

1x8 rough sawn Pine shiplap prestained on four sides. Loose shipped and installed on site.

Options: Shiplap PreStained on Four Sides with Cabot Clear Solutions 3000.

Trim

2" prestained rough sawn Pine barn style trim. Loose shipped and installed on site.

Roof

8' roof panel consisting of rough sawn Hemlock or Spruce rafters and 1x8 roof boards.

Second Floor Timber Joist and Decking

3x12 Hemlock floor joists with 2x10 rustic plank floor.

Windows

Barn style windows installed on site.
